BRITISH WW2 / 50's CLOTH ESCAPE MAP. EGYPT / TUNISIA/ sinai
Scarce example of a double sided WW2 cloth escape map of the ALEXANDRIA - TOBRUK area of the Sahara desert. Dated 1945 ( revised 1952) and in unissued condition with heavy folded creases where it has been stored for so long ! Not a lot of detail but shows the coast, Qattar depression, and the start of the Great Sand Sea. With map symbols key on one side. THE OTHER SIDE shows aLEXANDRIA TO CAIRO , SUEZ CANAL and onwards to JERUSALEM / PALESTINE. Measures approx 26 x 24 inches. Grade 9
